Hydrodynamic condition of Kapuas Kecil River, Pontianak based on simulation model. Hal.171-175
Study of tidal current influence toward the density distribution in the Kapuas Kecil River was simulated using a 2 dimensional vertical hydrodynamic. The Model was driven by surface elevation and density gradient whih was simulated from 1-20 july 2010. Tidal effects reached as far as. 1002 kg/m3 reached up to 11.2 km from the sea at spring tide, and 4.2 km at neap tide. Tidal asymmetry the estuary is is indicated by the fact that time taken from the lowest tide conditions towards the highest tides (10 hours) is faster than the time taken from the highest tide conditions towards the lowest tides (14 hours) at spring tide.
