Local adaptive capacity to cope with water scarcity in Pacitan, East Java Indonesia. hal. 220-236
Three sub-districts of Pacitan that include in Gunung Sewu karst area i.e. Donorojo, Punung, and Pringkuku,suffer water shortage especially during dry seasons, where the local communities need to walk up until 5 kilimoters in order to take water fo their domestic use. However, state-owned water company (Perusaaah Daerah Air Minum/ PDAM) that had developed since 1992 in the Pacitan had contributed in water supply in these areas. albeit the service areas only covers 23% of total areas, the numer of PDAM connections has been increasing for 10% each year since 2004. PDAM and the ministry of public works are supporting the water treatment instalation (instalasi pengolahan air?IPA) especially in these there sub-district. Furthnore, adaptive capacity
