Indonesia has 127 active volcanoes; it is the largest number in the world. The numbers of volcanoes in Indonesia provide oppurtunity for the people to learn, to understand the behavior of volcanoes, to be grateful, to live in harmony with volcanoes and creating a culture in accordance with the wisdom of volcanoes. In order to mitigate the hazard of volcanoes, the geological agency of Indonesia prepare an early warning system consist of several level of alerst. Early warning (level I - level IV) is not to predict volcanic eruption (When and how big the eruption will be), but each level depends on the level of activity and the potential hazards that may increase the hazard.
