Geoinformation: remote sensing, photogrammetry and geographic information systems

Surveying and mapping have undergone a transtition from disclipine-oriented technologies, such as geodesy, surveying, photogrammetry and cartography, into the methodology oriented integrated disciplins of geoinformatics. This is baswed on GPS positioning, remote sensing, gidital photography for data acquisistion and GIS for data manipulation and data output. Gottfried Konecny attemps to present the required baic back ground for remote sensing digital pjotogrametry and GIS in the new geoinformstics concept in which the different methodologies must be combined.
