Man and space
This book reviews the history of man's interest in space and analyzes the technological developments that have enabled him to explore this new frointer. The book also reposting changes that may occur on earth as a conseguence of experiments in space. The volume consits of alternating text chapter and picture essays. Some of the essays complement material covered in the preceding chapter (for example, Chapter 5 and the accompanying essay both deal with unmanned satellites); others supplements the text chapters with new material (Chapter 7 discussed planetary travel; Essay 7 describes recent space developments from moon landings to the coming space shuttle). In the Appendix are a glossary of termss, a statistical chart of the planents, and a list of importtand events and people in space history.
