Groundwater recovery
As the problems of providing adequate water supplies to civilised communities be come increasingly difficult, it is inevitable that greater use will be made of groundwater, as distrinct from surface water sources. It is the aim of this work to ensure that such recourse to groundwater resources is carried out scientifically and economi-cally by exploiting, but alsao conserving, the limited supplies available. The text has been developed as a results of the author's involvement in teaching the subject to international courses in hydraulic and sanitary engineering. The work will be particularly useful to design engineers faced with actual situations and requiring answers to their problems, in terms of real numbers for dischargers, depths, spacings and the like.
