Landscape ecology in Asian cultures

This book contains chapter thet cover range of topics, incuding indigeneous knowledge of landscape, ecological impacts of human actions on landscape, management of landscape, and land-use policies. An emphasis on human ecological network(e.g.traditional knowledge of wind-water geographic theory) seems apparent in Asian landscape ecological studies. Thus we believe that term "cultural landscape ecology" capture some of the essesntial features of the studies focusing on diverse ecological application in human dominated landscape in Asia.
The book consists of three part, in Part I) Understanding Asian Cultural Landscapes:, author discuss a number of issues and topic in cultural landscape ecology from multidisciplinary perpestive.; Part II) Measuring and managing Patterns and Processes of Cultural Landscape, focuses on the quantification of the structural pattern of cultural landscapes.; Part III) Concluding remarks includes only one chapter, which discusses the unieq characteristics and future directions of Asian landscape ecology.
