Earth on the edge : science for a sustainable planet. Proceedings of the IAG General Assembly, Melbourne, Australia, June 28 - July 2, 2011
At the XXV General asembly of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG), held from June 27 to July 8, 2011 in Melbourne, Australia, the International Association ofGeodesy (IAG) also had its quadrennial General Asembly. The IAG co-organised and constributed to several Union Symposia, as well as to Joint Symposia eith other Associations.. It also organised seven symposia of uts own, one dedicated to eachof the four comminissions and threededicated to specific scientific issue. This volume contains the proceedings of 13 Symposia. The rang of paper presented at theIAG General Assembly is testament to the ingenuity and hard work of scientists and engineers engagedin geodetic studies and in operational geodesy. The 2011 General Asembly attracted 370 geodesists from 44 countries. Three were 264 oral presentations and 217 posters made at the IAG Symposia andsix Joint IAG Symposia. Approximately 25 % of those contributions were submitted as full papersfor peer review and inclusion in these proceedings, The 80accepted papers are contained in this volume.
